Which is using the provided Arduino IDE > File > Examples > ArduinoISP > ArduinoISP, as below įile > Examples > ArduinoISP > ArduinoISP* Then, I attempted this procedure from Arduino-er, Arduin Uno as ISP to burn Bootloader to Mega 2560, except for using the fabricated ISP jumper from above, instead of using individual jumper wires for connecting the boards. System wide configuration file is "E:\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr/etc/nf"Īvrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.\COM8": Access is denied. When I attempt to Burn Bootloader I get the following error Īrduino: 1.8.4 (Windows 10), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560, ATmega2560 (Mega 2560)"Į:\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr/bin/avrdude -CE:\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr/etc/nf -v -patmega2560 -cstk500v1 -PCOM8 -b19200 -e -Ulock:w:0x3F:m -Uefuse:w:0xFD:m -Uhfuse:w:0xD8:m -Ulfuse:w:0xFF:mĪvrdude: Version 6.3, compiled on at 12:00:53 When I plug in the programming Uno to a USB port (with the target Mega connected via the jumper) the serial monitor displays ![]() ![]() Also I’ve deleted and reinstalled the Arduino drivers. Double checked the fabricated ISP jumper cable with a meter. I attempted to load the boot loader as you (CrossRoads) suggested, using Nick Gammon’s “ Atmega Bootloader Programmer” procedure several times over. I Apologize for the delay in this project, but life issues abound this year.Įven though this Arduino is not that expensive, this has become a challenge I just have to conquer.
